About Katie Ellgass
Dr. Ellgass grew up in South Bend, Indiana, attended the University of Notre Dame, and majored in literature and science. It was there that she volunteered at a local clinic and discovered the joys of practicing medicine. She received a full scholarship to medical school at Indiana University and completed her Pediatrics Residency at Dayton Children’s Hospital in Ohio. She moved to Misawa, Japan to serve as one of two pediatricians on a U.S. Air Force base. Stabilizing children and transporting them gave her a profound respect for EMS providers stateside. After military service she practiced pediatrics in the San Francisco Bay Area, working for Stanford Medicine Children's Health evaluating newborns at the hospital and providing care for children and adolescents at the clinic.
She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Dr. Ellgass draws from her varied geographic and cultural experiences to partner with parents to provide the best care for each child. Her interests include reading, running, and hiking. She is thrilled to serve the patients of PCHS since Nov 2025.
