James Aurandt, RDH

About James Aurandt

James Aurandt was born and raised in Minnesota. He enlisted in the Navy after graduating high school and entered the Nuclear Power program. He was stationed on the USS Nimitz when it home ported in Bremerton in 1987. After serving 6 years he left the service and worked for Wisconsin Energy for 6 years while also serving 1 year in the Army National Guard. James moved back to Washington in 1998 and decided it was time for a new career while also joining the Washington National Guard. He decided to go into dental hygiene and completed his pre-requisites at Olympic College after which he was accepted into the dental hygiene program at Pierce College-Fort Steilacoom in Lakewood, WA.

James graduated with his associate degree in 2001 and his bachelor’s degree in 2013. James worked in private practice for the next 16 years while continuing his military career and raising a family.

In 2017, James joined PCHS as a dental hygienist in our Belfair Clinic, while also working one day in our Port Orchard clinic. James is dedicated to patient care with a positive attitude focused and what can be for his patients.

In 2022, James was selected to be our Associate Dental Director while continuing his role as a dental hygienist. James currently works at our Almira clinic 2 days a week, our 6th St. clinic 2 days a week and 1 day at our Clare clinic. He will be finishing up his military career in 2025 and is looking forward to only working for PCHS for the foreseeable future.

His hobbies include working in his yard with his wife, reading, and woodworking.
