About the Organization
Peninsula Community
Health Services (PCHS) is a community based nonprofit organization
dedicated to providing comprehensive health care services to residents
of Kitsap County.
We offer quality,
low-cost care for children and adults with a target population of
low-income, uninsured and underserved families. Our services include primary
medical care, dental care, mental health counseling, pharmacy services, and health education
and promotion activities. Compassionate professionals including
physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, counselors,
dentists, and dental and medical assistants provide
all care at our three health centers.
Patients are charged
for services according to a sliding fee scale based on their income. We
also accept DSHS/medical coupons, Healthy Options, Basic Health,
Medicare, TriCare and
other private insurance reimbursements. PCHS is also supported by a
variety of funding sources including federal, state, local and private
grants, the local United Way and community and individual contributions.
Peninsula
Community Health Services is a Health Center Program grantee under 42
U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C.
233(g)-(n).
Board
of Directors
Governed by a
board of directors comprised of at least 51% of actual users, PCHS
provides a foundation of community support and responsiveness that
ensures consumers needs are met.
